Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren,
ye have done it unto me.
Matthew 25:40

Every act—whether of mercy or of cruelty—offered to the most
vulnerable is, in truth, offered to Christ Himself.
This is not only a divine principle He taught, but a reality He lived. As a
child, the Savior was a refugee, carried by His parents into Egypt to
escape the wrath of Herod. There, His family likely depended on the
kindness of strangers—on shelter freely given or withheld.
When we look into the eyes of the displaced, the forgotten, or the
frightened, we do not merely see others—we see Him.
