…the Spirit of the Lord hath already ceased to strive with them; and they are without Christ and God in the world; and they are driven about as chaff before the wind.
Mormon 5:16

The Erosion of Reason is a meditation on what remains when man descends below the divine potential of his creation. The mantis—a predatory, cannibalistic insect—crawls across a plaza once consecrated to holiness. Its design still bears witness to a higher order: sacred geometry, deferential symmetry, and the echo of a house dedicated for the indwelling of the Spirit.

But that light has departed.
Reflex is all that remains.
The creature—
untouched by spirit,
governed by appetite—
endures not as heir,
but as husk and ruin.
