Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind. Genesis 1:24

The creation of beasts was no sudden spark, but a slow, deliberate act of divine craftsmanship. While some traditions depict a world summoned instantly by the Word, biology suggests something more layered: a creation that still unfolds—guided by divine will, fueled by its own procreant power.

In the artwork, the beast sculpture is not fully formed. It emerges from a tangle of wire—its body half-born, its essence still coalescing, still becoming, still adapting.

Variation followed by selection…

The balance between design and chance, functional constraint and environmental demand, underlies the whole of creation: an assemblage of biological machines, wrought by instinct, energy and intention—independent in the sphere in which God placed them.

Thriving through change.
Enduring through adaptation.
Not made to be,
but made to evolve.
